Good news! We are partnering with the Africa Green Economy Summit (AGES) 2025!

This exciting collaboration propels us into a new era of green innovation and sustainable investment, setting the stage for groundbreaking advancements across Africa and igniting a transformative movement that will reshape the future of the continent’s green economy.

Scheduled to take place from 19 to 21 February 2025  in Cape Town, South Africa, the third edition of the Africa Green Economy Summit promises to be a landmark event in the green economy space. This partnership will further propel the summit’s objectives by leveraging ABAN’s extensive network of angel investors and entrepreneurs thereby boosting the visibility and investment potential of green projects, and fostering a sustainable and resilient economy across the continent.

The key objectives for AGES 2025 are designed to drive significant progress in the green economy sector. The summit aims to enhance participation by encouraging a broader range of African delegations and investors to get involved. It will diversify investment opportunities by expanding the investor base and doubling the number of green projects available for investment. New sectors, including agriculture and the blue economy, will be introduced as focal areas to address emerging opportunities. The summit will also focus on measuring impact by fostering investment commitments and tracking their effectiveness. Additionally, it seeks to elevate awareness of green practices across both corporate and individual levels, ensuring a comprehensive approach to sustainable development.

Building on these objectives, AGES 2025 will feature several exciting new elements. The summit will showcase 60 project pitches, presenting over $3 billion in investment opportunities. It will introduce two distinct pitch stages – one for start-ups and MSMEs and another for large-scale infrastructure projects. The agenda will be expanded to include new sectors such as agriculture and the blue economy. Interactive features will include Shark Tank-style sessions with live investment commitments and a formal mentoring program for pitch projects. Networking opportunities will be enhanced with dinners, ice-breaker drinks, and a year-long campaign of connection activations.

“Africa’s Green Economy Summit is delighted to welcome the African Business Angels Network (ABAN) as a partner association for the 2025 edition of the summit. This collaboration promises to drive meaningful progress in sustainable investment and innovation across the continent. ABAN’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and early-stage investments aligns perfectly with our mission to promote sustainable development and green growth. Together, we will focus on leveraging ABAN’s network of investors to fund green ventures, facilitating partnerships to enhance sustainable technologies, and much more! We regard ABAN as an inspiring partner in amplifying our efforts to build a resilient and sustainable future for Africa.” Emmanuelle Nicholls, Project Lead – Africa’s Green Economy Summit – VUKA Group

As a supporting partner, we will play a pivotal role in the Africa Green Economy Summit 2025 by actively participating in summit sessions, contributing to the Shark Tank event, and providing valuable insights through members of our advisory board, amongst others.

Fadilah Tchoumba, CEO of ABAN, expressed her enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “We are thrilled to partner with AGES 2025 to drive significant progress towards the green economy agenda in Africa. By combining our efforts, we are not only enhancing investment opportunities but also accelerating the transition towards a greener and more prosperous future for Africa. In doing so, we aim to bridge the gap between ambitious green projects and the investment capital they need to thrive. We are committed to using our collective resources and expertise to make a substantial difference and accelerate the adoption of climate-smart solutions across the continent.”

As ABAN and AGES embark on this transformative journey together, we are committed to creating a lasting impact in the green economy sector. Stay tuned for more updates and exciting developments as we approach the summit.
