The Zambia Business Angels Network (ZBAN), Zambia’s pioneering angel investor network established in 2021 under the umbrella of the Africa Business Angel Network (ABAN), continues to make significant strides in the country’s entrepreneurship ecosystem. ZBAN was created to bridge critical gaps and bolster the number of enterprises attracting impactful investments.

Led by a group of 27+ investors, ZBAN aims to mobilize individual capital, foster connections, and provide mentorship crucial for start-ups and early-stage enterprises. Recently, ZBAN celebrated its latest achievement by investing $8,000 in Mighty Fin, marking its 4th investment this year and its 12th overall. Mighty Fin, founded by Vwanganji Amatende Bowa, is a leading financial technology firm in Zambia, specializing in microloans, personal loans, and business financing.

Since its inception, ZBAN has cumulatively invested $210,000 across various ventures. These investments have fueled entrepreneurial growth and contributed to creating 90+ jobs through investee companies and mentored over 7 start-ups.

Additionally, ZBAN has unlocked two Catalytic Africa matching funds, further amplifying its impact on the local economy. Looking ahead, ZBAN remains committed to expanding its network of angel investors and supporting promising entrepreneurs across Zambia.
