We are thrilled to announce that Seed Capital Limited has officially become a member of the esteemed Africa Business Angel Network (ABAN). This partnership marks a significant milestone for us as we embark on a journey of collaboration and innovation within the African investment landscape.

Seed Capital Limited is an integral part of Mauritius’ flourishing entrepreneurial ecosystem, championed by the local incubator Turbine. Its mission is to identify, educate, nurture, incubate, and accelerate entrepreneurs, and finance startups in Mauritius. By joining ABAN, the network aims to expand our horizons and contribute to a larger network of similar endeavors across mainland Africa. Seed Capital Limited is eager to share our expertise, collaborate across borders, and collectively drive the growth of entrepreneurship and innovation on the continent.

“In Mauritius, one of the pressing challenges faced by startup entrepreneurs is the lack of equity financing as they transition from the incubation phase to scaling up their ventures. Seed Capital addresses this gap by providing investments of up to MUR 5 million (USD 100,000) in selected startups. Additionally, we leverage our network of angel investors to offer additional equity support through co-investment opportunities and access to debt financing. Since our establishment in 2023, Seed Capital has made significant strides, with an available fund of MUR 45 million (USD 1.0 million). However, our vision extends far beyond the present.” Renaud Lagesse , Chairman – Seed Capital

Over the next decade, the network aims to expand its fund and investor pool, enabling it to offer cross-border financial solutions between Mauritius and mainland Africa – an expansion will not only benefit startups in Mauritius but also contribute to the growth and development of the broader African investment ecosystem.

“As we embark on this exciting journey with ABAN, we are committed to driving positive change, fostering innovation, and creating impactful opportunities for entrepreneurs across the continent.” Renaud Lagesse , Chairman – Seed Capital
